Comforming

As many of you know I have alot of piercings, 12 to be exact. I have liked how piercings have looked since I was in high school, As soon as I was moved out of the house and not under my dad's rules I went out and got my tongue pierced and I did not stop there. I now have 4 on my face alone and I really like how they look and feel. The problem I have been having with them lately is that society still is not use to people being really different from the rest of the world. They don't find it to be normal or professional. I work for my dad at the moment in his meat shop, I don't deal with people often except when people come to pick up or drop off their meat. They walk in the door and when they see me they give me a nervous hello and that's it, they don't say anything else to me after that, and when I ask them a question I just get a one word answer. What the hell is people's problem, do they think I'm crazy? That I'm going to bite them? Seriously I'm a person just like them.

I do not understand the reason as why we have to conform to what is acceptable in society. We get ONE live to life only one, when it is over that's it no rewind or play again. There is so many people out there who want go live in the wild and live off the earth, or sell everything they own and travel the world or get a huge tattoo on their face cause it is what they like and feel they need to do to be happy with they life they live BUT, they don't because it is not of the normal and people think it's weird. Alot of people don't live THEIR live to the fullest cause society almost seems to shun them.

I have a friend who once told me that she would love to go back to dressing like she use to in high school and dye her hair purple or green. The reason she can't do so is because her children, not because they don't like how she dressed it's because of the parents and teachers at her sons school. She knows that the parents would judge her and look down upon her and possible take that out on her son by not letting their kids play with him. It is so sad but it is true. When we become adults or parents we are expected to be a certain way, live a certain way, dress a certain way and conform to how society expects us to be.

Why? Why is it this way? Why can't we just let people be who they want to be and do what they want to do without any judgement (other then breaking the law of course)?

So back to the beginning about my piercings, since I am going to Europe I don't want to miss out on meeting interesting people or opportunity to have any amazing trip because people might be intimated be me or feel that I am not approachable people of my abundance of piercings. So I have decided to conform to this stupid society and take out the majority of my piercings. Well the good thing that will come out of it will be that I can blow my nose properly now.
